Recreational diving cylinders
Steel and aluminium cylinders from 1 to 20 litres for single-cylinder diving — the everyday range that covers almost every recreational dive plan. Sized, stamped and CE-marked to EN 1964.
The 12-litre 232-bar steel cylinder is the European recreational standard — the size you’ll find filled at virtually every dive centre on the continent. It suits most divers to 30–40 metres on a single dive. Everything else in the range exists to fit a consumption rate, a dive plan or a role the 12 doesn’t.
Match the cylinder to your dive
Gas available = capacity (litres) × fill pressure (bar). A 12 L at 232 bar holds about 2,784 L of free gas at the surface.
| Size | Best for | Typical role |
|---|---|---|
| 1–3 L | Argon & redundancy | Dry-suit argon inflation, small redundant gas source |
| 5–7 L | Pony & sidemount | Bailout / pony bottle, lighter sidemount, low consumption |
| 10 L | Compact dives | Shorter, shallower dives or divers with low air consumption |
| 12 L | The standard | Most recreational divers, single dives to 30–40 m |
| 15 L | More bottom time | Higher consumption, longer dives, deeper recreational range |
| 18–20 L | Long & deep | High consumption, extended range, light technical, sidemount |
| Aluminium | Travel & stage | Non-magnetic, corrosion-free, ideal as stage / deco bottle |

The concave-bottom 8.5 & 12 L cylinders sit flush against each other in a manifold twinset — they need twinset band hardware and aren’t meant for a standard single-cylinder backplate.
When aluminium makes sense
Aluminium cylinders are corrosion-resistant, non-magnetic and lighter to travel with than returning heavy steel. Their defining trait is buoyancy: they sit negative when full and swing slightly positive as they empty, so you plan a little extra lead and account for the shift. That same behaviour makes them the standard choice for stage and decompression bottles.
- S80 / S63 — the global standard sizes for dive-centre fills and stage configurations
- Non-magnetic — relevant around sensitive equipment
- Travel-friendly — no external rust, common at warm-water centres
Don’t forget the valve
Cylinders ship as bodies only. The valve is a separate choice — and it has to match your regulator and your fill pressure.
1 PORTZ valves
One regulator connection. Standard for recreational single-cylinder, sidemount, stage and argon. (7 models)
2 PORTSH / V valves
Two independent connections on one cylinder — a redundant second regulator, or a separate gauge port. (7 models)
MODULARManifold parts
Left/right monovalves, H-adapters, manifold parts with isolator, outlet screws and plugs. (10 parts)
THREADSDIN & nitrox
EN 144 (M25×2 tank thread), 300 bar, nitrox-clean and US 3/4″ NPSM variants. DIN-to-A-clamp inserts available.
